The multi-award-winning Strand Hotel is one of Limerick City’s finest hotels, ideally located next to the River Shannon with a birds-eye view of every landmark in Limerick City’s Medieval Quarter.

  • Both the main IWSM conference (Monday 14th to Friday 18th July 2025) and the Short Course (Sunday 13th July 2025) will take place in the Strand Hotel Conference Centre (in the Shannon Suite and the City View Harris Suite, respectively).
  • Accommodation is available for IWSM delegates for dates between Sunday 13th July to Friday 18th July 2025, inclusive (and some limited rooms on Saturday 12th July and Saturday 19th July 2025). You can book your room through the Strand Hotel Room Booking system by entering IWSM2025 into the Promo Code box. These rooms (and associated Promo Code) will be held for IWSM delegates until Monday 12th May 2025 after which they will be released to the general public. (Note: the Promo Code box is located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen just under the Check-in/Check-out dates.) Bed & Breakfast is included and complimentary access to the Energize Health Centre (gym, 20-metre heated swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi).
  • Food will be provided by the creative and passionate River Restaurant culinary team, whose “Taste the Place” menu celebrates local artisanal suppliers, offering a unique AA-Rosette-winning experience with the heartbeat of Limerick City. The restaurant also boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning river and city views.

Alternative accommodation

Although accommodation can be booked with the Strand Hotel (as described above), there are various other excellent alternative accommodation options within walking distance (as shown in the IWSM 2025 Interactive Map): Savoy Hotel Limerick, Absolute Hotel Limerick, George Hotel Limerick City, Limerick City Hotel, Clayton Hotel Limerick, and No. 1 Pery Square Hotel.

Note, in particular, that the Savoy Hotel is holding 60 rooms for IWSM delegates from Monday 14th July to Friday 18th July 2025.
